We’re delighted to announce that Alec en Jo Palmer have been invited to join the editorial team for picture framing magazine 4Walls under the branding ‘Ask the Experts’. The magazine is produced by Larson-Juhl, the UK and Europe’s leading moulding supplier and is distributed to industry professionals.

Although they have previously written one-off articles for this and other magazines, starting from the March 2024 issue they will now write a regular column in 4Walls as industry experts on a subject of their choosing. The focus will predominantly be on technical and practical issues encountered by framers. Their first regular column features information about the workhorse of most framing workshops – the Morso.
Alec and Jo have a long relationship with Larson-Juhl, using them as one of their main suppliers for moulding and mountboard. This developed with Jo’s increased involvement in the Fine Art Trade Guild firstly as an Executive Director and then when she stepped up to become Chair & Master of the Guild for a three-year term. She was actively involved in regular industry discussion forums in locations around the UK and Ireland supported by Larson-Juhl, going on to Chair those meetings from 2019 until the programme ended. In 2020 she was chosen to host webinars as part of a series provided by Larson-Juhl to framing professionals. These webinars ran through the first 6 months of COVID lockdown to the restarting of trading.
Since Autumn 2022 Alec and Jo (along with Ian Kenny) have been the designated trainers for the Larson-Juhl sponsored Guild Certified Framer Scholarship Scheme that provides specialist industry training for four scholarship winners each year. Their experience and the many technical queries they have dealt with from framers over the years will help drive the subjects covered in their ‘Ask the Experts’ articles going forward.
