Sharon-Lee McKee GCF(APF) Adv.
Sharon-Lee and her husband Steven entered the framing industry in 1995, and soon after, they opened a gallery and picture framing shop in Dromore, Co. Down. Sharon-Lee mainly took care of the gallery, with Steven focussing on the framing part of the business. They joined the Fine Art Trade Guild with Steven going on to pass his GCF examination in 1998. As the business grew and began to focus more on framing, Sharon-Lee spent more time in the workshop, where Steven provided her training. There, she developed her own interest and specialisations in 3D items and textile work. With a keen interest in standards, she passed her GCF exam in 2006, upgrading to Certified Framer in 2015. Sharon-Lee is also a holder of the GCF Advanced: Textile Framing qualification.
Steven and Sharon-Lee both volunteered their time with the Fine Art Trade Guild in various roles. They both spent time as the Guild’s Regional Organiser for the Northern Ireland Branch.
Sharon-Lee supported Steven during his tenure as Master of the Guild (2013-2015) and for the many years he was both a member and then Chair of the Framing Standards and Qualifications Committee. She is a member of FSQC in her own right, and has been a Guild examiner since 2019.
Since 2003, she has trained numerous students up to GCF level in Ireland, England and Scotland.
